Check a Black Friday shelf price before you buy
Black Friday is loud on purpose. The tag is red. The aisle is crowded. The number looks like a win. The useful question is simpler: is this shelf price better than the same item online, or are you paying for the rush?
WorthIt is built for that second, in the store, before the cart fills up.
Why the tag alone is a weak signal
A markdown percentage only tells you what the store used to ask. It does not tell you what Amazon, Walmart, or Target are asking for the same item today. Those three move independently of the sign in front of you.
Some “deals” are still above a typical online range. Some are real. You cannot sort that by staring at the cardboard.
What to photograph
Open WorthIt and snap the item. Include the Black Friday tag in the frame when you can. You need both the product and the digits you are about to pay.
One photo starts a Save check. You do not pick Amazon first. WorthIt names the item, then shows a deal signal, a typical range, and comps from Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
Those comps are estimates, not the live register price at the store you are standing in. Use them to decide, then confirm if you are about to spend real money.
Buy, wait, or walk
If the shelf price sits under the typical range and under the online comps, it is a reasonable buy even in a crowded aisle. If the tag is higher, put it back — or wait and buy it online later.
If the sale digits were cut off in the photo, add the shelf price yourself so the comparison still uses the number on the sign.
Keep the check short
You are not trying to photograph the whole endcap. One item you were already unsure about is enough. Black Friday shopping gets expensive when every red tag feels urgent. One clear scan breaks that loop.
If you are buying to resell, open Flip on the same result. That is a different question from whether the shelf price beats Amazon. Most shoppers only need Save.
